Ceramic glaze is water-based
non-toxic and washable.

Once the ceramics are glazed and fired they are foodsafe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. However, they are handmade pieces of folk art and fragile so we recommend hand washing for longevity.

Glazing and kilning can be a tricky process and sometimes things go wrong that we can’t anticipate. Examples include: pottery arriving to us defective and cracking in the kiln, glaze “crawling” which is when it won’t stick in one section and instead crawls up on the glaze nearby, or kiln dust landing on an item and becoming fused to the glaze, or the glaze being too thick and cloudy.
